Logicalis snuggles up to HP with Hawke deal

Logicalis Group is continuing its growth-by-acquisition strategy, with the purchase of Berkshire-based Hawke Systems for an undisclosed sum. The infrastructure reseller says the addition of 3i-backed, privately-held Hawke's £15m annual revenues to its books will take its own UK revenues to over £100m.
Ian Cook, CEO of Logicalis' European operations, says the deal is part of an overall strategy for the company to dominate its sector, particularly in the HP and IBM enterprise server and storage market.
The acquisition of Hawke will help solidify Logicalis' relationship with HP. Hawke is one of very few HP Storage Elite partners in the UK, although the Berkshire-based firm has strong ties to other vendors, including Veritas, NetApp and Sun.
In a statement, the company said Hawke would essentially become the HP-focused part of the Logicalis business.
Logicalis bought IBM reseller Notability earlier this year, and also recently acquired two IBM resellers in the US. ®
