Uswitch, the UK utilities price comparison service, is running the calculator over broadband service providers.
With more than a hundred ISPs providing all sorts of packages at different speeds and prices, uSwitch reckons its service will help customers navigate the maze of operators and tariffs on offer.
Based on information pumped into its "impartial calculator", the uSwitch service delivers a list of ISPs to meet punters' specific needs. The service is free for consumers, although uSwitch gets a commission for each new punter it signs up.
So far uSwitch has 25 ISPs on board, even though it's written to more than 100 broadband providers.
A spokesman for uSwitch said that it operates in markets "where there is choice and confusion". ®
