FoTW This one is a classic.

We ran a story yesterday about Intel sampling Rosedale silicon, following an announcement about the same at the Intel Developer Forum.

We think of this kind of thing as traditional reporting: we go to a press conference, the company provides information, we write it down and publish it, with some additional commentary, on El Reg for you to read.

But, lo, not all readers were impressed. It has been a long time since we've been accused of fabricating stories:

Hi

Looking at the Register Web Site I notice 3 IDF Articals just wondering ware you got your source becuase Ive Checked Intels Web Site and cant find any of that information.

I thought the Register was a good news source seems not you publish lies or dont tell it corretly

Daniel

Well. We couldn't let that go, so we dropped him a short note pointing out that we are at IDF. Reporting on announcements. Made by Intel.

Fortunately, he replied saying that this was "fair enough".

Good to know, we're sure you'll agree. And now that we have Daniel's blessing, we'll get on with reporting the news. ®
