Mac software developer Information Appliance Associates (IAA) has released an iSync plug-in that allows Mac OS X users to synchronise their systems with Blackberry handhelds.

PocketMac Blackberry Edition derives from the IAA's synchronisation tool for PocketPC devices and allows the two-way alignment of data between the handheld and Microsoft Entourage, Mac OS X's own Address Book and Now Software's Now Contact, along with Entourage, iCal, and Now Up-To-Date. Notes will also be transferred back and forth between the Blackberry and Mac OS X's Stickies app.

The software can cope with Blackberrys connected via USB or serial - the latter requires a third-party adator - but only USB-based cradles will automatically synchronise.

Available now, PocketMac Blackberry Edition costs $29.95 from IAA's web site (http://www.pocketmac.net/products/pmblackberry/index.html). ®
