Kyocera is preparing to cash in on demand for Apple's iPod Mini digital music player with a range of digital cameras that will ship in similar metallic pastel shades as the hard-to-get-hold of MP3 machine.

The Japanese company today unveiled the Finecam SL400R family in its home market, and said they cameras will only be made available in Apple's Ginza store and the Mac maker's online shop.

Five models are available: in silver, gold, blue, pink and green.

 

Each SL400R provides a four megapixel CCD and offers a 3x optical zoom lens. The camera weighs 125g, which is more than the iPod Mini's 103g, and measures 10 x 6.3 x 1.5cm.

All five SL400Rs cost around ¥44,000 ($401;£218). ®
