In brief Amazon.co.uk is axeing its Web development team in the UK with loss of some 20 jobs. According to insiders, the redundancies will be compulsory. A couple of those facing the chop have been offered jobs in the US.
At this stage, it's not known if the job losses are isolated or part of some wider scale restructuring.
Amazon.co.uk PR manager Rachel Silk repeatedly refused to confirm or deny that jobs had been cut. She also refused to confirm or deny whether the job losses were part of a wider restructuring plan.
She told The Register: "I can't comment on internal organisational matters." ®
