Southern Electric - which is running trials to supply broadband over electricity cables - is to begin a marketing push in Winchester next month to drum up more customers.
So far, only 50 people have signed up for Southern Electric's Powerline Communication (PLC) broadband service, even though the commercial trial kicked off last summer.
Since then, 50 substations have been PLC-enabled, with a further three in the pipeline. It means that the service is now available to 9,600 people in the Hampshire city. ®
