Reader offer Those unfortunate enough to live outside London can only look on in awe and wonder at the privileges granted to inhabitants of that great city since the inception of mayor Ken Livingstone: bendy buses, congestion charging and a Thameside HQ building closely resembling a glass testicle.

And there's more. London businesses can now - thanks to support from Ken's London Development Agency - avail themselves of the offer of free training in IT skills. This terrific opportunity comes as the result of an exclusive deal between The Register and Internet Exchange Training Centres.

Internet Exchange has made places on its Microsoft and CompTIA certification courses available to Reg-reading employees of London's small and medium-sized businesses - that's 250 staff or less in new money.

These courses are designed for those working with IT who want to become either a Microsoft Certified Professional - which provides a reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise - or even a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer - which equips trainees with the skills to implement and administer an IT network.

The scheme runs until December 2004. Training is available online at any of the 17 IE Training Centres in London, from the employee's work place or from the trainee's home. There are online tutors available 24 hours a day.

If you'd like to get yourself a piece of this metropolitan educational give-away, then ring Marcin Lai on 0800 9175425, or email him at cert@internet-exchange.co.uk. Further information is available at www.internet-exchange.co.uk. ®
