Vodafone snaps up Generation Telecom

Vodafone today announced the acquisition of Phones International's Generation Telecom subsidiary for an undisclosed amount.
The all-cash deal gives Vodafone direct access to more than 27,000 business customers, almost 85 per cent of which are existing Vodafone subscribers. Generation Telecom specialised in providing service to businesses in the railway sector.
Nick Read, chief commercial officer, Vodafone UK, commented: "Together with the recent acquisition of Project Telecom and Singlepoint, this transaction will further increase our direct market share in the corporate and business segments."
Business focused service providers Generation Telecom was founded in 2001 by industry veteran Peter Jones. ®
