It's clear that relations between Yahoo! and yodelling cowboy Wylie Gustafson are even better than we previously reported.
To recap, Gustafon threatened to sue after Yahoo! used his trademark yodel for its ads. They later kissed and made up, and today this loving relationship pretty well turned into a full-blown marriage as the high plains yodeler helped the company warble the world mass yodelling record into submission.
This is no mean feat, to be sure. No fewer than 1,773 yodelers were required at Yahoo!'s headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, for the historic event.
The news will come as a bitter blow to the previous record holders - 937 Swiss and German yodelers, who shook the world of yodelling to the very core of the alpine mountainside on which it stands with their 2002 rendition of the classic "Von Luzern uf Waggis zue".
We await their retaliation - perhaps 10,000 lederhosen-clad Bavarians yodelling extracts from Wagner - with barely-concealed excitement. ®
