T-Online - the ISP of German telecoms outfit Deutsche Telekom - is in talks to buy AOL Time Warner's Internet operation, according to a report in German rag Sueddeutsche Zeitung, by way of AFX.
Apparently, senior execs from both companies have already met to discuss a deal that would see T-Online acquire a 70 per cent stake in AOL, the paper said.
No one from AOL was available for comment at the time of writing. However, a spokesman for T-Online told The Register that no negotiations were underway between the two companies.
"[Such a deal] is more unlikely than likely," he said. ®
