The man at the centre of a row over the non-arrival of DVDs bought through auctions on eBay has been arrested and questioned by Norfolk Police.

Adrian Bailey (aka zippymilk), 33, was arrested on suspicion of deception by Great Yarmouth police on Friday, the Eastern Daily Press reports today.

Police confirm that a man (who they declined to name) was interviewed and bailed pending further enquiries into allegations of deceptive trading concerning eBay.

As first reported on The Register last month, patience is wearing thin among the estimated 800 customers of zippymilk (aka Bailey). They are growing tired of a succession of excuses zippymilk has offered for the non-arrival of goods they secured in eBay auctions.

Many have banded together to form a members-only Yahoo! Group called Zippyvictims to share their experiences. Membership of the group has swelled to 415 since its formation in mid-July.

Members of the group calculate that zippymilk made more than £22,000 through DVD auctions on eBay, slightly less than previous estimates. Weeks after they paid for their goods by cheque, few members of the group report receiving their DVDs.

Bailey, meanwhile, has denied any wrongdoing, saying his only fault was running more auctions than he was able to cope with. Last month he told the Eastern Daily Press that the missing DVD claims against him had been grossly exaggerated. ®
