Telewest has launched a DIY wireless self-installation pack for its broadband cable service following the successful completion of trials in the North West.
The new wireless pack costs £35 and makes use of a pre-configured Netgear access point with the cable modem already embedded in the company's digital TV set-top box.
Punters signing up to this service can then hook up to the cableco's 512kbp/s or 1Mbp/s broadband services without having to plug-in cables.
According to Telewest, this wireless service could be a real winner since eight out of ten of its digital TV customers have their set-top box and PC in different rooms. ®
