HP scoops up Baltimore SelectAccess

No sign of White Knight yet

Published Saturday 5th July 2003 13:47 GMT

HP is to buy Baltimore SelectAccess, a Web single sign on product, for £8.3m in cash.

This will provide some relief to Baltimore Technologies, the once high-flying, long since crashed to earth security software provider. Baltimore will use the money for general corporate expenses i.e. to keep itself afloat while its search for a white knight continues.

Baltimore reckons it needs a big company with big cash and big distribution to flog its products. Baltimore reckons right - but do any big companies reciprocate this sentiment?

Baltimore's press release is here. ®
