EDS is to look after desktop IT services for Barclays plc. The outsourcing deal, worth $350 million over seven years, is described as one "of the largest ever in UK retail banking sector".
EDS says it will provide 41,700 desktop seats across the Barclays group and will enable its customer to lower operating costs. And that's it on the detail front. At time of writing the company has not revealed how many Barclays staff are transferring to EDS, or if it is paying Barclays any cash upfront for IT assets. ®
