We all knew it was coming. When PwC Consulting recently announced - to a flourish of trumpets and Flash graphics - that it was relaunching as Monday:, it was only a matter of time before the whole preposterous venture went convincingly titsup.
And sure enough, IBM has acquired Monday:, doubtless for the sole purpose of ridding the world of this absurd moniker.
Indeed, the ill-starred www.monday.com now points to www.pwcconsulting.com, where it is confirmed that IBM and PricewaterhouseCoopers have announced that IBM will acquire PricewaterhouseCoopers' global business consulting and technology services unit, PwC Consulting.
Sadly, the quite remarkable www.introducingmonday.com, a site which had the entire world staring in drop-jaw amazement as it pushed back the envelope of PR-fuelled gibberish, also now redirects to www.pwcconsulting.com.
So, farewell Monday: Let this be your epitaph:
WOKE
UP
MONDAY:
GOT
BOUGHT
OUT
FELL
ON
CEREMONIAL
REBRANDING
SWORD
GOODBYE
