Nintendo drops GameCube price pants

$149 in North America

Nintendo is ratcheting up the console price war by dropping the GameCube's recommended retail price in North America to $149.

That's approx. $30 cheaper than the RRP in the UK (although most of the difference is accounted for by the hefty whack of VAT incorporated into the UK price).

Sony and Microsoft have driven their prices down to $199 apiece. Will they follow suit this time? Probably not. ®
