Living dummies hang out in Harrods

What some people will do

Four people are to "live" in Harrods' shop window over the next five days to publicise the launch of a range of Internet gadgets.

The living dummies are camped out for all the world to see in the London department store surrounded by wall-to-wall kit.

There's a Multimedia Internet Fridge Freezer which has a 15" touchscreen set bolted into the door and a built-in 56K modem, allowing the dummies to watch TV, access the Net and send and receive email. Oh, and it keeps the beer cool too.

There's also an Internet Microwave Oven, an Internet washing machine, and an Internet air conditioner that can be controlled and monitored remotely either by the Net, email or mobile phone.

This stunt is being run to promote the launch of these products made by home electronics outfit LG.

Anyhow, if you're interested, you can take a gander at what's going on here. ®
