BTopenworld's broadband satellite service kicks off next month

TMA BTopenworld will make its two-way broadband satellite service available nationwide from next April, said chief exec Andy Green.
The service is due to be made available in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and Northern Ireland early next month before being rolled out to the rest of the country in spring next year.
Details of the offer are still being kept under wraps but it's understood that the monthly subscription for the service will be less than £100 but more than the current pricing of DSL, which stands at around £40 a month.
The upfront installation cost for the service is thought to be more than £150, the current charge for DSL.
BT maintains that the provision of this satellite service will make broadband available to almost everyone - but at a cost. ®
