CMGI gets new Euro president

Marcus Bicknell's had enough

Published Thursday 4th October 2001 11:23 GMT

Marcus Bicknell, the president of CMGI Europe, is to step down from the company in the next couple of weeks.

Apparently, he wants to develop his own business - maybe in satellites or broadband - he told Reuters.

Bicknell will be replaced at the head of CMGI Europe by its current MD, Lorraine Eaves.

Unfortunately, Ms Eaves wasn't available for comment even though she's the only one at CMGI - which owns a number of dotcoms, including AltaVista - who is handling the matter.

You see, it appears that times are so bad for CMGI Europe that it doesn't have an external press agency or an internal press office to handle enquiries. Bless.

Last week CMGI announced it lost $1.28 billion during the last quarter. Ho hum. ®
