AMD's 1.4GHz Athlon MP drips into channel

UK workstation supplier has them, apparently

Updated AMD's upcoming 1.4GHz Athlon MP has surfaced on the Web ahead of the part's official launch.

UK workstation vendor Transtec is currently offering two 1.4GHz Athlon MPs as an alternative to the single 1.2GHz chip is ships with its Transtec 1200 Linux-based system. The standard box costs £1820 exc. VAT ($2677) with one 1.2GHz part, but buyers can have two 1.4GHz chips for £305 exc. VAT more.

According to the site, the kit is available for immediate delivery. The 1.4GHz part was expected to ship sometime this month, and it looks like it now has.

And a number of Reg readers have pointed out that another UK workstation maker, Digital Networks UK, is offering single or dual-1.4GHz Athlon MPs with its Linux-based Workstar 720-DDR system, again with imminent delivery. ®
