The desktop Pentium III will officially cease to be on 7 December. That's the last date on which Intel will accept orders for chip.
And all orders placed after 12 October can't be cancelled.
So the chip giant told its customers last week. It also said it would be pulling the plug on the 800MHz and 850MHz desktop Celerons over the same timeframe.
Intel announced in July it would kill of the PIII by the end of year, effectively bringing forward the chip's demise by a quarter. ®
