The non-executive directors of Gameplay have resigned. Why on earth would they want to do that? Well, they made their decision "following the substantial reduction in the activities of the business" - which is a great way of saying that they've got bugger all to do.

Gameplay is little more than a name anymore - the vast majority of staff have been sacked and the few remaining in the UK managed to knacker the company's hub while transporting it up to Leeds - causing the site to vanish from the Web.

It sold its UK division for £1 but managed to get £3.4m for its Spanish business. It's now looking at selling what little remains. Interesting factoid: Gameplay was the worst performing stock in the AIM market index this year.

We don't imagine there will be many more Gameplay stories so we bid adieu now in case we don't get the chance later. ®
