Spinmeisters from some of Britain's leading telecoms and Internet companies have been getting gobby ahead of "Bandwidth Aid" - a charity pub quiz to be held this week between rival PR offices to raise cash for Comic Relief.
A BT spokesman for BT bragged: "It's in the bag unless the so-called opposition try to bribe their way to victory ...[since] there'd be no way we could raise the cash to outbid them."
AOL UK was unimpressed with the posturing. Their spokesman crowed: "We haven't lost a battle with BT yet."
Meanwhile, Vodafone's spinbunny said: "We've always been number one in the UK and don't intend to lose out now."
Giddy aunt - with all these PR egos in one room it's bound to get ugly. ®
