IT hacks were agog on a recent Sun press jaunt to New York when a top spin-doctor got hauled off at US immigration.

Upon arriving at the desk that he thought would let him pass into the Land of the Free, the UK PR manager was unceremoniously marched off and interrogated by JFK airport officials.

To the relief of the assembled journalists, worried at the prospect of having to pay for their own entertainment in the Big Apple, he was able to employ his PR skills and was released after revealing nothing.

"It turns out there is someone with my name and my date of birth on the list of America's most wanted," the flustered spinmeister explained later.

Coincidence? He was given the benefit of the doubt as he sauntered toward the hotel bar wielding his corporate credit card. ®
