Storage Computer Corp has kicked off legal proceedings against Hitachi Data Systems in the UK, claiming some of Hitachi's storage products infringe two of its European patents.
Storage Computer is after damages, legal costs, and for Hitachi to stop selling the products in question.
The complaint alleges that certain of Hitachi's products infringe the patents: EP 0,294,287, entitled "Fault-tolerant, Error-correcting Storage System and Method for Storing Digital Information in Such a Storage System"; and EP 0,539,494, entitled "High-Speed, High-Capacity, Error-Correcting Storage System for Binary Computers."
Hitachi is formulating a response. ®
