Choosing a cloud hosting partner with confidence

iomart Group plc is glowing with pride today after reporting it now has 1,000 customers signed up its ADSL service.

In a statement, Phil Worms, iomart director of broadband services, said: "Whilst 1,000 customers does not sound a great number, given the difficulties associated with deploying such a new technology as ADSL, we are delighted to have achieved this milestone.

The "difficulties" Worms refers to centres on allegations by AOL UK and Freeserve that BT is manipulating the roll-out of broadband to its own advantage, something strenuously denied by BT.

The matter is currently the subject of an Oftel investigation.

However, unlike AOL UK and Freeserve, who have decided to fight their corner, iomart has got on with the job of marketing its products and serving customers.

iomart claims that part of its success is down to working with BT, not against it.

Although iomart claims 1,000 punters, Demon says it has in excess of 1,500. BTopenworld has around 20,000. ®
