Britain's biggest computer games retailer, Electronics Boutique, today reported record sales for December, with like for like sales growth of 15 per cent and overall sales growth of 17 per cent for the five week period ended 30 December 2000.
The outfit projects that that it is on target to generate sales of more than £300 million for the year to 31 January - and all this without a significant contribution to date from the Playstation 2 (which the company describes as a "mouth watering prospect as we look forward to the benefits its recent launch will bring to our company in future years"). ®
