Protocol Solutions, the Fareham, UK reseller accused of installing pirated software into the Hampshire Police force, has been forced into receivership after being sued by the police, Silicon.com reports. LinuxIT, a Bristol-based Linux services firm, has bought the business interests of 01Linux Solutions Ltd, a rival British firm (in other words it's not taking on debt or liabilities). Terms were undisclosed. ®
