China jumps on human organ craze

China has cottoned on to the craze of selling human organs on the Net, with one man prepared to sell everything - as long as the price is right.

The donor in question was a prisoner - a condemned one at that - so he probably thought "what the heck... if I'm gonna go, I may as well make some cash out of it".

However, according to the South China Morning Post, the con received no takers.

Elsewhere, SCMP reports that kidneys are being valued at around $36,000 - with many donors citing poverty as the reason behind the sale.

The craze for selling body parts on the Net really gained popularity last year when everything from kidneys to babies was put up for sale on the auction site.

Still, if you're stuck for a present this year for the person who has everything... ®
