An Aberdeen anti-child abuse campaigner is to name and shame paedophiles on the Net.

On his Web site, called Abuse of Children, Stuart Carnie has published a database of sex offenders, with names, addresses and pictures.

Carnie, who runs the charity Caring for Children, declares on the site: "The notion that we cannot stop the disgraceful abuse against innocent children is a failure by the very body which do everything in its power these children, the government."

In an interview with the BBC, he said: "We believe people have a right to know what they've done, what level of danger they pose and where they're staying so that people in that area can protect their children better."
