LetsBuyIt.com in double-billing slip-up
But it's sorted now
LetsBuyIt.com has admitted that it's been bugged by a billing problem but has insisted that the error has only affected a handful of punters.
Those hit were billed twice for a purchase giving them a nasty shock when they opened their credit card bills.
LetsBuyIt.com - the etailer that offers bigger discounts depending n the number of people buying certain items - claims the problem lies with its third party payment provider.
The problem has now been rectified.
In a statement issued to The Reg, Tracy Mawson, LetsBuyIt.com's UK and Ireland MD, said: "Since [Monday] we have been aware of several cases of our members being billed twice for the same purchase.
"The problem occurred as a result of an error in the technical system of our payment provider who deals with all financial data related to LetsBuyIt.com purchases.
"We have addressed the situation with them to ensure that members are promptly reimbursed and that no further members are affected.
"We sincerely apologise to those who have been inconvenienced by this error," she said. ®
