E-bookshop in Fatbrain deal…

Barnes and Noble.com has acquired technical bookseller Fatbrain.com in exchange for $4.25 per share for all outstanding shares in Fatbrain.com. The deal comprises 75 per cent Barnes and Noble stock and 25 per cent cash, the companies said.



Future Internet Technologies plc (formerly Griff-Tech.com plc) recorded a loss for the 25 weeks ended 30 June of £182,000 with no turnover during that period. The holding company was incorporated in January 2000 with the first operational activities begun in June. The outfit is currently looking to expand.




e-capital investments plc has net assets of £38.8 million, compared to £3 million last year, plus a cash pile worth some £20.2 million, it said today. Pre-tax profits hit £176,000 with a loss after tax of £18,000. The investment house has 36 companies in its portfolio.




Cube8.com, the AIM-quoted technology, media and telecoms incubation and investment company, is to invest £500,000 for a 14 per cent stake in ASP and telecom operator, Corex Networks Limited. Cube8 has options to increase its stake to 20 per cent within two years.




Broadcast Monitoring Company has launched Bmcnews.com, an online cuttings service. BMC claims to be the first outfit to deliver cuttings and clips to clients' computers. ®
