Internet Security Threat Report 2014

An eight-year-old lad from Wiltshire is claiming his position as one if the youngest dotcom e-ntrepreneurs around after deciding to float his horseracing betting business on OFEX.

Joseph Allen came up with the idea of Betachance.com when he was in the bath.

His uncle Godfrey, who works in the racing industry, helped young Joseph over the hurdles of setting up a business.

Now, Betachance.com is hoping to raise £312,500 in the float to help develop and expand the offshore, tax-free betting site.

SurfControl plc has signed a contract with Concert, the AT&T/BT global communications venture to supply a new Linux-compatible version of its Internet filtering software. SurfControl will receive royalty revenues.

Magic Moments - the e-outfit that provides hosting, domain name registration and e-commerce solutions to the SME market - reported a pro forma turnover up 270 per cent to £2,174,000 for the six months ended 30 June 2000. Pro forma earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) registered a loss of £759,000. ®
