Overpriced memory snaps up three quarters of workstation market
According to new figures from IDC, Direct Rambus DRAM was installed in 75 per cent of the 270,000 personal workstations shipped in Q2.
Shipments in the Windows personal workstation market fell seven per cent in the quarter, principally due to a drop in Hewlett-Packard and Compaq sales, while Dell shipments - which only use Direct RDRAM - rose eight per cent in the quarter. ®
