Rockin' T'bird overclockin'
Opinions are divided
Trainwrecker has posted the chronicle of their efforts to overclock the Thunderbird on the Abit KA7. They conclude that the whole is actually less than the sum of its parts, resulting in a rating of 7.5 out of 10. AMDZone has also linked to the story, and seem surprised that they hordes at Trainwrecker had so much trouble: "There is a lot more to running a T'bird on a KX133 board than I think these guys know," opined Chris Tom.
Staying with this theme, Hardocp has linked to this. Billed as "great news for KA7 users who would like to overclock the FSB/PCI speeds without rebooting in Windows" this has information and instruction for two new plugins for SoftFSB from CoolBlue.
On a different note, turning our attention to OCWorkbench.com yielded this review of the new GFD from Innovatek. The advice from OC Workbench is clear - if you need a GFD, you should have a look at this one.
Also there are a couple of "cable vs. DSL" showdowns out there today. Hardcore Ware has reviewed the various routers on the market, while Planet Hardware has looked at what kind of connections each can provide.
