Spot DRAM prices in Korea are tumbling toward $5 per 64Mb unit, Asiabiztech reports. What it calls the "benchmark 8Mb x 8, PC-100 chip" is currently trading in the $5.80-6.15 per unit range. Falling prices throughout the first half of the year will mean that chip vendors are likely to cut back on production -- but not quite yet, according to industry watchers cited by AsiaBiztech. ® Related Stories DRAM suppliers confirm doom and gloom (http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/archive/9253.html) DRAM industry sits on massive overstocks (http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/archive/9104.html)
